Atone

Who is the man Big Sean, Big Shan, Oba Rowland, Pat Piff, & Young Scolla call on to make their tracks complete? Antonio “Atone” Turner. He’s worked with the who’s who’s on the Detroit music scene. Not only does he single-handedly own Atone Studios, he’s one of the best producers & lyricist Detroit has ever scene! I got a chance to sitdown with the gamer/music-wiz for this month’s Lucky 7.

1) What do you favor more between  recording yourself or recording others?

Atone: Working with others because it lets me know what I need to do
when recording myself. It lets me know others thought process when
recording.

3)      Had you ever had to kick someone out of a session?

Atone: No, but there’s been sessions to where they had to kick
themselves out. They brought 100 people & that prevented them from
getting any work done.

4)      If you can collab with anyone (dead or alive), who would it be?

Atone: Yukimi Nagamo & Fink

5)      What got you into music?

Atone: Listening to a lot of techno and drum & bass. I’ve always been
a fan of music but I didn’t start writing and wanting to hear it until
I got in the 6th and 7th grade.

6)      If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?

Atone: Have everybody smoke the same length

7)      Since you’re a gamer, Which game would you compare your life to?

Atone: Final Fantasy because it’s based off of experience points. My
gamer tag is Atone24
