At Weedstock we are all about promoting the arts. I’ve been watching comedian, CP. He is hilarious (no, literally) so hilarious makes you wanna slap ya momma. Ok so I’m not funny, but you get the point. I know your probably thinking now what does any of this have to do with anything. I said all of this to announce that CP will be the new host of the Weedstock Generation Show, and don’t worry you will still see Bella and Ashley who will host the open mic portion of the show.  He will be making his Debut Monday March 15th, be there.

Weedstock Generation

So I’ve gotten a lot of comments and questions about the name Weedstock Generation so below I have explained the name.

The name came from the idea of Woodstock, and how so many people were brought together because of this one event. An event that would change musical history.  Now if your like most your saying ok yea, yea, yea we get that, but what about the weed. No, you don’t have to smoke weed to come to the show. It’s just apart of the name. Just because your name is Rich Banks I wouldn’t expect you to have millions, it’s just that a name.

Weed represents our generation because we are accepted but we aren’t accepted.The power social networks and technology has allowed is incredible. Our generation was raised totally different from our parents and grandparents. We live in a society where at the touch of your hand you can find out anything you want. Although older generations attempt to embrace us there are still major differences. With Weedstock we stand by the fact that yes we are different, and no we aren’t for everybody, but we have a goal to expose the arts. We know that this great city which has produced some of the best talent in this world needs a revival. Weedstock Generation wants to help in rebuilding and to give artists a place to relax, release, and ripen. We are all about shooting for the stars. Anything is possible if you simply believe.

This is a free show.People come from all kinds of backgrounds  we have artsy, we have hip hop heads, we have musicians, college students  a  melting pot that comes together to enjoy the arts and most of all respect the arts.We just want  exposure for the artists.

Stop the Violence

So I just heard about the event listed below and I am so sick of the violence in our communities I have lost one to many friends from gun violence and it really needs to stop.  Along with the event posting I wrote a letter to my friend I lost a couple of years ago to gun violence.

Dear Friend,

I write to you because you are no longer here. Every time  I type in the letters of your name on the keyboard I remember again. It seems like its been so long. We should be communicating on how much you hate it down south and want to come here or how we were gonna share a night and go amongst the stars. I still can’t understand what made you feel the need to do the things you did, but in it you taught me the ups and downs of living in the fast lane. Yes the lights are alluring and the money is fast, but to risk your life over that silly green stash. Now we must comfort your mom and dad and wonder what ifs with memories of you in the past. I wish there was someway I could bring you back to share things like the roads finally getting fixed or who’s gonna be married to who at our 10 year but that won’t happen, instead I will be forced to face the realities of your sudden departure all because of a life that you never had to take. Today I see guys walking around wanting the money cars and hoes but at what price does that all come…..ultimately life. Life taken too soon over drugs and money. I wish I could make it all stop but I can’t.I can let people know the dangers of what may bring. I’m not mad at you for the life you chose, but I do wish you would have chosen another route.Every day in the news its another death. Another parent crying over the lost of a child, and I can’t understand. So many questions and not enough answers, but all I can do now is educate and to try to make these other young boys understand. Life, Death, Or Jail. Maybe one day they will wake up so people like you and so many others can stop being examples.
